The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelers Council was founded in 1982, and its mission is to serve the remodeling industry and consumers by establishing a written code of ethics, quality standards and by offering information, education and professional designation programs. The council advocates professionalism, business and technical excellence and responsible government, while representing the interests of the remodeling industry to regulatory, legislative, media, trade and consumer groups. As the recognized authority of the professional remodeling industry, the council promotes the opportunity for safe and decent housing for all Americans through preservation and improvement of existing housing stock.
More than 150 NAHB-affiliated state and local homebuilder associations have organized Remodeler Councils. The resources of their local association and the NAHB Remodelers Council support these councils. In this partnership, the local councils, the local associations and the NAHB Remodelers Council strive to foster and develop remodeling professionalism by providing information, networking and education.
The NAHB Remodelers Council maintains eight working committees to address issues concerning all remodelers: Education and Business Development, Membership and Local Council Development, Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) Board of Governors, Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) Board of Governors, Public Affairs, Leadership Development, Remodeler 20 Clubs Working Group and Business Associates Committee.
Remodelers join the Greater Atlanta Remodelers Council to improve their business management skills, to network with peers, to perform community service and to work for the betterment of the industry. The council’s future success hinges upon its ability to successfully address these areas, satisfying existing members’ expectations while enticing new members to join.
The Greater Atlanta Remodelers Council meets quarterly or more as the need arises. These meetings offer remodelers an opportunity to focus on industry issues, shape future Remodelers Council activities and interact with their peers.
