Thank you for your interest in the Certified Professional Home Builder (CPHB) program. The CPHB program is the only voluntary builder certification program of its kind in Georgia and was established in 1997 by The Housing Institute, Inc.
Our story begins at a time when the state had limited regulations and lacked licensing for builders. A group of professional and customer service-oriented builders wanted recognition for the high standards they set for themselves, and they wanted to educate the real estate industry and home buyers on what to look for when choosing a builder.
Since 1997, the program has evolved into a consumer-oriented program with a board of directors representing builders, the Business Bureau, the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors, real estate agents, suppliers and county building officials. The program is focused on connecting the homebuying public with Certified Professional Home Builders who are dedicated to maintaining the highest level of professionalism, customer service and homeowner satisfaction.
As a member of the program, I am proud to be a part of this elite group of builders who are willing to publicly and contractually agree to customer service and homeowner satisfaction. I am equally proud to be the president of The Housing Institute, Inc. and to participate in a program that is committed to continually raising the bar for the builders in Georgia.
Thank you for your interest in the program and wish you the best in your home buying experience.
Tony Perry, president
The Housing Institute, Inc.
The Housing Institute, Inc. uses its best efforts to determine a builder’s qualification for certification as a Certified Professional Home Builder. While the program recognizes the professionalism of a builder, The Housing Institute, Inc. does not make any warranty or representation, express or implied, to home buyers or others and has not inspected the construction of any home and, therefore, does not and cannot address the specific quality of a new home. The home buyer is encouraged to discuss the program with his or her Certified Professional Home Builder and to contact The Housing Institute, Inc. for more specific information about the program.
