Jim Brown Installed as 2019 HBAG President

Atlanta-area home builder and Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) member Jim Brown has been named 2019 President of the Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG.) Brown was installed on Wednesday, September 26, at a banquet held during HBAG’s Fall Membership Conference at the Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel in Charleston, SC.

“I’m honored to be named President,” Brown said. “I look forward to serving and helping HBAG work toward accomplishing our goals for the home building industry over the next year.”

HBAG is part of a three-tiered federation of professional trade organizations focused on advocacy, education, networking and community service within the home building industry. It’s affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders and locally with the GAHBA.

Brown has been building custom homes in metro Atlanta for more than 40 years with his company JWB Properties, which specializes in small residential developments and single-family homes. Some of the company’s past achievements include collaborating with the United States Department of Energy to build the first passive solar home in the state of Georgia and being selected to build the Southern Living Centennial Olympic House.

In addition to his new role as HBAG President, Brown was President of the GAHBA in 2014 and continues to serve on the board as a Life Director and active member of the association. Outside of work, he is also an avid cyclist who volunteers for the National MS Society, Camp Twin Lakes “Spin for Kids” and Team in Training.
