|Benefits of Student Chapters|
The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) offers a student chapter membership from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). A student chapter membership entitles you to the same benefits as builder and associate members but at a fraction of the price.
Housed under the NAHB Residential Construction Academy and funded by NAHB, corporate partners and student member dues, the NAHB Student Chapter program helps to enrich the educational experience of students enrolled in construction-related fields such as construction management, engineering, architecture, real estate and the trades.
Chapters are located at high schools, vocational and technical schools, community colleges (two-year programs) and universities (four-year programs) across the country. Students are given first-hand exposure to the real world of the homebuilding industry. NAHB student membership gives students an invaluable complement to their academic studies.
More than 140 local homebuilders associations throughout the U.S. sponsor an NAHB Student Chapter. This sponsorship strengthens the ties between the associations and their communities. It leads to greater publicity and community awareness of the HBAs’ activities and their purposes. More importantly, their sponsorship introduces young men and women to NAHB, their associations, and the home building industry.
The Greater Atlanta HBA currently sponsors a student chapter at Kennesaw State University.
Dues payment is due Oct. 31 annually. Dues are $5 each for secondary level students (high school) and $10 each for post-secondary level students (college/university).
