The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) is a 130+ member council comprised of sales and marketing professionals in the homebuilding industry. The council was established in 1980 to enhance the sales and marketing capabilities and reputation of those who represent the HBA. The SMC is dedicated to developing a higher level of professionalism in the general membership through education and the interchange of ideas. The SMC’s governing body consists of a board of directors comprised of four executive committee members and ten board of director members each of which are responsible for a committee. The SMC is committed to the following areas: education, programs, membership, awards and charity.

The education committee of the Sales and Marketing Council is always looking for a way to provide its members with quality education to increase skill levels and income potential. The education committee has been very active in delivering outstanding education courses to its members.
Each year, we make two of the four IRM (Institute of Residential Marketing) courses available on a national basis. The IRM courses give training in all areas of new construction sales and marketing, budgets, research and more. The completion of the four courses, along with a case study, is part of the national requirement to obtain the prestigious MIRM designation. This designation is the top designation available in sales and marketing of new construction.
Upon completion of the four IRM courses, you are qualified for the Certified Marketing Professional (CMP) designation. You enter into a group that has proven nationally that they are the best at what they do.
We also provide two Certified New Homes Sales Professional (CSP) courses per year. These classes take a total of four days to complete, and the class schedule is split into two two-day sessions with a month in between. An advanced CSP course is also available on house construction. Top Rung Club
The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association has launched an innovative awards program designed to recognize and reward outstanding sales achievement within the new homes industry and we invite you to participate.
The “Atlanta SMC Top Rung Club” will recognize outstanding achievement in quarterly sales volume by new home sale professionals for new home production. Winners will be recognized at a quarterly SMC event and will receive a “Top Rung” award and gift certificate. The winner’s names will also appear on the Atlanta SMC website under a “Top Producers” tab and will be featured on the SMC’s Facebook and Twitter pages, Atlanta Real Estate Forum, and in a press release for expanded peer to peer awareness.
