HomeAid Atlanta

What is HomeAid Atlanta?

Founded in 2001, HomeAid Atlanta is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds and renovates housing facilities for organizations serving homeless families and individuals in the metro Atlanta area. HomeAid Atlanta is the designated charity of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and is a local chapter of HomeAid America, a leading national provider of transitional housing for the temporarily homeless.rainbow at PP

HomeAid Atlanta builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. This is accomplished through generous donations of construction services and materials from members of the homebuilding industry. HomeAid acts as the housing developer and liaison between homeless service providers, builders, trade partners and community volunteers.

HomeAid Atlanta strives to improve the conditions of Atlanta’s temporarily homeless families and individuals by focusing on increasing capacities at local transitional housing facilities, providing more homeless children, women and men with an opportunity to restore their lives. Transitional housing provides the temporarily homeless with safe, dignified living environments that blend into neighborhoods and offer life and job skills training programs promoting self-sufficiency.

HomeAid Atlanta’s 2016 Essentials Drive

This Mother’s Day, you can help homeless mothers  and their babies as part of HomeAid’s 15th Annual Essentials Drive.  Join the drive from April 25 – May 3, 2016.Essentials Sorting 2015 (1)

The Essentials Drive is HomeAid’s community-wide drive to collect “essentials” such as diapers, baby wipes, baby food and formula for homeless infants and toddlers.  The drive is conducted in conjunction with Mother’s Day, providing a great opportunity to help homeless mothers and their babies.  Sadly, an estimated 10,000 people in Metro Atlanta are homeless on any given night and 40% are women and children. Thanks to the support of many businesses, community organizations, and individuals, more than 160,000 essential baby items were collected through the drive in 2015, assisting hundreds of moms and babies in the metro Atlanta area.
