THE PERIMETER PERSPECTIVE: GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AUGUST NEWSLETTER

Thank you for reading this edition of The Perimeter Perspective; the Monthly Newsletter of your Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Government Affairs Committee.

Atlanta Update

As many of you know, the City of Atlanta is in the middle of the process to rewrite their Tree Protection Ordinance; it is imperative that your voice is heard on this matter.

On Thursday, August 22nd, the Department of City Planning will be presenting to the Atlanta City Council on the current state of the Tree Protection Ordinance rewrite.

We ask that you (and your employees) contact the Atlanta City Council and let them know you support private property rights.

Please note this is NOT A DRAFT ORDINANCE REVIEW, and project schedules have been revised to show anticipated timelines.

Builders Political Action Committee (BPAC)

BPAC is an excellent tool for the home building industry and makes political contributions to local and state candidates throughout metro Atlanta and in the state legislature.

This fall, there are nearly 50 local elections that we can be involved in, and we have officially kicked off our 2019 BPAC Drive. The BPAC Trustees have created contribution levels and benefits which come with each level. Thank you to those who have already contributed, and we hope each of you will consider a donation. You can learn more by clicking here.

The next GAC meeting will be on Tuesday, September 24th at the GAHBA offices in Dunwoody. We encourage all members, big or small, builder or associate, to get more involved and attend!

As always, if you see something, say something.
