Energy Efficient Homes

This continuing education course provides Georgia home builders with a practical overview of residential energy efficiency, including the history of the energy code, current requirements, and discussion about what changes may be coming next. Attendees will learn why energy efficient homes matter, explore cost effective methods for building higher performing homes, discuss off the grid concepts, and understand how to differentiate their homes beyond code minimum standards through energy programs, product positioning, marketing advantages, and available rebates and incentives.

David Goulding is a Building Science expert specializing in moisture management, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency, with a focus on creating healthier, more durable, and higher performing homes. As a licensed General Contractor, he integrates these principles into real world applications, ensuring homes are not only visually exceptional but also built for long term performance and occupant well being. He is also a respected industry leader through Ensign Building Solutions, which provides quality control programs for over 150 builders throughout the Greater Atlanta area. With more than 20 years of experience, David also builds and renovates custom homes including luxury homes and log cabins, applying the same Building Science principles in the field that he emphasizes in his instruction.
