EarthCraft House Builder training provides a comprehensive overview of best practices for sustainable design and construction that addresses the challenging energy, water and climate conditions in the Southeast. Learn cost-effective ways to build and market a house that provides extra client appeal with significantly higher indoor air quality and lower energy cost.
After successfully completing this course, the participant will have the knowledge and skills to successfully build, certify and market EarthCraft homes.
This training covers:
- Building science basics
- EarthCraft program fundamentals
- The EarthCraft certification process
- Strategies for marketing EarthCraft projects
- Green building incentive programs
Registration Includes:
- Printed binder with course materials
- Copy of EarthCraft Technical Guidelines
- Breakfast and lunch
Prerequisite: LMS Courses: Basics of Building Science (access provided upon registration)
Certifications: Upon completion of the course, you will be prepared and eligible to sit for a 50-question EarthCraft Builder exam, register and join the EarthCraft House program and begin the process of certifying your first EarthCraft House.
Note: To become an EarthCraft House builder, you must attend an EarthCraft House class and then submit an application (along with the application fee) to your local HBA.
Continuing Education Credits: The EarthCraft Builder training qualifies attendees for continuing education credit from the following organizations: AIA - 7 LU; CSI - .8 CEUs; GBCI - 8 hours. This session qualifies under the Rules of the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors for six (6) continuing education hours.
CREDIT NOTE: Any session approved for Georgia State Licensing Credit or Georgia Real Estate Credit requires the participant to attend the full session to receive credit. The participant is required to sign in and sign out. Failure to sign in or sign out will result in 0 CEUs/credits for the session. Sorry, no exceptions.
