Susan Verlander is Founder of Southcreek Holdings and Southcreek Luxury Properties, a seasoned real estate developer with a distinguished track record of conceiving, scaling, and delivering complex residential and mixed-use communities across the United States and internationally.
Susan launched her career at O.C. Tanner as the company's only national female sales representative, negotiating directly with C-suite executives at major Southeast corporations — building a foundation in high-level negotiations and institutional relationships. Transitioning to real estate, she quickly earned South Carolina's People's Choice Realtor of the Year. By age 26, she had partnered in the development of a lakefront luxury planned community, establishing her focus on high-end, master-planned environments.
Recruited to lead a new homes division for one of South Carolina's largest brokerages, Susan scaled operations to more than 30 active projects, managing a sales force of over 90 agents. Recognizing the power of vertical integration, she founded a luxury custom home construction company — unifying land development, product design, and delivery under a single vision. Her expertise then drew her to Newland Communities, one of the nation's premier master-planned community developers, where she played a key role in launching more than 15 large-scale communities nationwide.
From that success, Susan founded Southcreek Holdings, a national land development and consultation firm with initiatives spanning more than 20 states and two countries. Her award-winning portfolio consistently emphasizes placemaking, luxury positioning, and long-term asset value creation.
A recognized industry thought leader, Susan has served as Chairman of the NAHB Land Development Committee and National Awards Committee Chair, and has been a featured speaker at NAHB, ULI, NAR, and Crittenden Conferences.
